Daraz launches ‘DExports’ programme to facilitate local traders

‘The programme will give local sellers an opportunity to list their products on Alibaba’s B2B website’

In collaboration with Alibaba, Daraz has launched ‘DExports’, a programme that will give local sellers the opportunity to list their products on Alibaba’s business-to-business (B2B) website, enabling them to reach a larger, global customer base.

“As Alibaba’s local partner, Daraz will assist Pakistani sellers to list their products on Alibaba.com through an annual membership programme which will give them complete access to the global market. The company will support local exporters by providing them with essential knowledge regarding global trade. Daraz will also share unique insights on digital entrepreneurship with local sellers,” a statement issued by the company read.

“Daraz will bring unprecedented opportunities for Pakistani exporters using Alibaba.com’s Gold Supplier Membership. With its local knowledge, experience in e-commerce and training facilities, Daraz has the potential to unlock hidden export potential in thousands of sellers across Pakistan,” said Jan Poeter, Head of Cross Border, Daraz.

He explained that the membership to the programme was divided into three different gold categories: basic, standard and premium, each having its own benefit.

“Overall, the programme will help maximise the exposure to companies registered with Alibaba’s B2B website. Moreover, it will also help the traders build strong, credible and long-lasting relationships. This means that getting authenticated by Alibaba.com would help the sellers not only build instant credibility with buyers but would also enable them to take up new business ventures,” he stated.

According to the statement, local sellers, through the DExports programme, would be able to reach over 300 million buyers in more than 200 countries including Russia, South America, Africa, Canada, United Kingdom, France and the USA.
